2024 Local’s Day on the Tahoe Via Ferrata
In an ongoing effort to contribute to inclusive and accessible climbing opportunities in Lake Tahoe, Alpenglow Expeditions is excited to announce that we will be hosting a heavily discounted Tahoe Via Ferrata Local’s Day.
Our tour will take place on the Tahoe Via Ferrata on Sunday September 22, 2024. This is a chance for Lake Tahoe locals to climb the Tahoe Via Ferrata with professional Alpenglow Expeditions rock climbing guides. Thanks to a great partnership with Palisades Tahoe Resort, Alpenglow is able to operate a fully functioning Via Ferrata exclusive to our operations on the famed Tram Face in Olympic Valley. While general fitness is recommended, no climbing experience is required!
Despite being in Olympic Valley with the full view of the resort surrounding us, the Via still maintains a sense of adventure and remoteness while we’re up there. While the Tram Face is entirely out of bounds for skiers in the winter, climbers are able to access this terrain in the summer and fall exclusively through Alpenglow Expeditions.
To participate in this program, we ask that each person make a $25 donation to Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, which will receive 100% of all proceeds.
